My Role - Animator
Studio - Badger Communications
Client - Vodafone

I regularly team up with Badger Communications to create explainer animations for Vodafone Business. My challenge is to create dynamic, smooth transitions between scenes while adding an additional layer of charm with delightful details in the animation.

Student work - made as part of Advanced Motion methods by School of Motion.

I animated this piece as part of School of Motion’s course Advanced Motion Methods - taught by the animation legend Sander van Dijk. Sander is a huge inspiration and influence in my work and to learn some of his processes and techniques was a true privilege.
This was an open brief, I was provided the artwork and set free bring it to life in my own style. I had a lot of fun closely timing it to a quirky 80s synth track, and playing with strobing colours.

Client - FILL

This was a short piece I created to promote the launch of FILL, a new fuel delivery service in NZ. It features a simplified “video friendly” version of the application interface in use to highlight the key features. I particularly enjoyed working on the intro which drives home an exaggerated interpretation of “the dreaded fuel light”.

Client - Wilton

DJ and music producer Wilton commissioned a short video to promote the release of his new album. Wilton provided me with the album artwork and music and gave me free reign to create something rad. The album’s theme is the unseen threats of the modern world. Threats like fake news, misinformation, and climate change. I wanted to allude to these while building a sense of distress and intrigue. To achieve this, I transformed the album artwork Wilton provided into an animated texture, then combined this with abstract geometric designs.

Client - Smart Parking NZ

I thoroughly enjoyed teaming up with Smart Parking NZ to create a video to showcase the features of their parking technology. They were looking for a clean, modern style that reflected their branding. I managed and executed this project from the initial conceptual phase through to final delivery. This video features very smooth motion graphic transitions and is a good example of merging reality and animation in a natural way.

Client - Haydn

Painting and decorating company Haydn requested a short video to promote their new paint scraper to an international audience. To speak to their target audience, the video needed to showcase the product in use, along with its features and benefits. I brought in Cinematographer / DOP Sebastian Beyrer to shoot the production. I was responsible for project management, editing, motion graphics, and all post-production. Of note, the subtitle design needed to be clean and on brand, while communicating a large quantity of information – a challenge I had fun with.
